FICCI award for Best NGO Promoting Sports

Rayalaseema Development Trust was felicitated by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) with the “Best NGO Promoting Sports” award at the Indian Sports Awards, part of TURF 2018.

The event was held in Federation House in New Delhi on 25th October 2018.  It is an annual occasion where institutions from both Private and Public Sectors are acknowledged for their efforts in development of Sports in India.

The award was presented by Shri. Vijay Goel, Honorable Minister of State, Government of India in the august presence of Shri. Dilip Chenoy, the Secretary General of FICCI.

Anantapur Sports Academy – a Sports for development initiative of Rayalaseema Development Trust runs programs in the sporting disciplines of Foot Ball, Cricket, Hockey, Soft Ball, Judo, Kho-Kho and Kabaddi through its 130 centres spread across Ananthapuram district.  The vision is based around building a sporting culture by providing children and youth, access to their right to play.

Mrs. Anne Ferrer, the Executive Director said “it is a great motivation and an encouragement for us to go forward and hopefully it is the first of many awards to come.  Thanks to FICCI for recognizing our services in development of Sports among rural children and youth.”

Mr. Moncho Ferrer, the Programme Director stated “this award is recognition of our continuous efforts to ensure the right to play for children and youth in rural areas of Ananthapuram since the year 2000.  Thanks to all our supporters, partners and staff.  Above all, we are grateful to all the parents and children that have extended their cooperation in this journey.”
